As per the new requirement, to earn up to a $150 bonus, you need to have qualifying direct deposit(s) that total at least $1,000.00 each calendar month during the first three (3) calendar months your account is open. A cash bonus of up to $150 can be earned in the following manner during the first four (4) statement cycles. A statement cycle is a calendar month consisting of the days your account was open during that month. The three calendar-month qualification period includes the calendar month in which your account was opened. A maximum of three (3) payouts of $50 for each calendar month that the Rewards Checking account is receiving the direct deposit can be earned during the four (4) statement cycles and the bonus will be deposited into your Axos Bank Rewards Checking account within 10 business days following the end of the statement cycle in which the balance requirement was met

To receive a $100 Bonus: An Axos Bank Rewards Checking application that includes the promotional code “SUMMER” must be submitted between 10/5/2022 at 12:00am PST and 11:59pm PST on 12/31/2022 to qualify. You must open your new Rewards Checking account and have qualifying direct deposit(s) that total at least $1,500.00 within a single calendar month during the first three (3) calendar months your account is open, including the month in which your account was opened. Direct deposit funds must be new to bank from a third-party source (not originated from another Axos Bank brand account) to receive bonus credit. All eligible awards will be delivered to your Rewards Checking account within 30 days following the 90-day waiting period. Account must remain open for 180 days or an early closure fee of $50 may apply.
Final Thoughts
Generally, Axos Bank offers $100 although it had offered $150 recently. To receive $100, you have to have direct deposit of at least $1,500 in a single calendar month, within the three month period. They eased their requirement on achieving the sign up bonus, which is a welcome change. However, this is still a below average bonus.
Besides the sign up bonus, Axos Bank increased its APR from 1% to 1.25%. However, the 1.25% APR AXOS Bank advertises has 5 requirements (direct deposit, 10 debit card transactions or personal finance manager, managed portfolio, self directed trading, and loan payment).
